Eating a healthy serving of vegetables is hard enough as an adult. For children, it’s practically impossible. At least if your child is a picky eater.
Broccoli just doesn’t stand a chance in the kid crowd!
So what can parents do to make sure that their kids are eating healthy? While you cannot force-feed your children vegetables, but with just a few extra minutes in the kitchen, you can make veggies more appealing to them! Who says vegetables can’t be fun?
Creating an interesting vegetable sculpture in the shape of an animal is one way to engage them in healthy eating.
By arranging healthy foods such as cherry tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, broccoli, and broccoli in fun and entertaining ways, you can catch their attention long enough for them to get a healthy snack!
- Yellow Carrot
- Orange Carrot
- Cherry tomato
- Corn kernel
- Lamb's lettuce
- For the giraffe, we used yellow and orange carrots, peas, corn kernel and asparagus.
- For the butterfly, we used cherry tomato, corn kernel, and tiny pieces of broccoli.
- The rest of the plate, we filled with lamb's lettuce and broccoli.
